Security forces on Thursday intercepted two persons with pistol and live rounds at Khonkhan area of Dalgate Srinagar district.
A top police officer confirmed to news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, Police Station Khanyar intercepted a vehicle, Etios bearing registration number JK01AJ 1886, at Khonkhan Dalgate during routine naka checking.
The two occupants of the vehicle were later identified as Shah Mutaib, resident of Koolipora Khanyar, and Mohd Nadeem, l resident of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, working as a barber and tenant at Kaw Mohalla, officer said.
During the search, police recovered one pistol (Desi Katta) and nine live rounds from their possession. Following further investigation, the duo disclosed the identity of another associate, Kamran Hasan, resident of Koolipora Khanyar, employed as an auto-driver, the officer said.
He added that, All three have been detained at PS Khanyar for further questioning.
A case has been registered under relevant sections and investigations are ongoing. (KNC)
