Mehbooba Mufti Mourns Loss of Shia Scholar Aga Syed Baqir Moosavi

Srinagar, 18 April: With profound sorrow, former Chief Minister and PDP supremo Mehbooba Mufti has expressed her heartfelt condolences on the demise of Kashmir’s most revered religious scholar, Alama Aga Syed Baqir Moosavi of Budgam.

In a post on X, Mehbooba wrote: “Deeply saddened to know of the passing away of revered Shia cleric, prolific author & theologian Aga Syed Baqir Moosavi Sahab. May Allah SWT grant him the highest place in Jannah & give patience to his family & legion of admirers.”

A towering figure in the religious landscape of Kashmir, Aga Syed Baqir Moosavi breathed his last in the early hours of Friday at the age of 85, following a brief illness.

He belonged to the distinguished Aga family of Budgam and dedicated his life to religious service and the upliftment of society.

His memory will continue to be cherished for his decades of selfless service to the community. —(NewsEye)
