Srinagar, Feb 13: The observance of Shab-e-Baraat prayers at Jamia Masjid Srinagar was not allowed for the sixth consecutive year.
According to Anjuman Auqaf Jamia Masjid, authorities abruptly closed the gates of the Jamia Masjid following Asr prayers.
“Police personnel asked worshippers to vacate mosque premises,” they added.
Meanwhile, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was placed under house arrest at his residence earlier today, he announced on X.
The Anjuman Auqaf expressed profound disappointment over the decision and condemned these measures.
