Srinagar, August 16[NEWSEYE]: Amar Singh College administration has clarified the arrangements made during a farewell gathering organised by the college staff on August 8 in honour of the outgoing Principal and faculty members.

According to the organisers, the Wazwan served during the farewell was ordered from outside and reached the college campus at around 2:30 pm. They clarified that the food was not cooked inside the college premises.

The organisers further stated that as it was raining at the time of serving, a defunct laboratory, formerly used by the Department of Zoology and now being used as a store by the gardeners, was utilised only for dish-out and serving purposes.

“This is a defunct lab now used as a store. You can come and see it,” the organisers said, while offering to show the premises.

The organisers also categorically clarified that no permission was granted for cooking food inside the college, either in the open or inside any building.

The clarification comes after questions were raised regarding the preparation of Wazwan inside a classroom. The organisers maintained that the food had been prepared outside and was brought to the campus for the farewell gathering.

The farewell was organised by the staff as a gesture of appreciation and respect for the outgoing Principal and faculty members, recognising their contribution to the institution.
