In view of the ongoing severe weather conditions and the forecast of further deterioration, all schools across the Kashmir valley will remain closed for one day on April 21, Education Minister Sakina Itoo announced.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Itoo stated, “In light of the continuing severe weather conditions and forecasts, it has been decided that all schools in the valley will remain closed for one day tomorrow (21st April). This decision has been taken as a precautionary step to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.”

The decision comes after multiple areas in the valley witnessed heavy rainfall, landslides, and a drop in temperature over the past two days, prompting concerns about students’ safety during travel.
