The crescent moon marking the end of Ramadan has been sighted, confirming that Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated tomorrow in Kashmir, India, and Pakistan.
According to Grand Mufti,
the crescent was observed at multiple locations across Jammu and Kashmir by the official sighting committee and local observers. Following discussions with the Hilal Committee, it was decided that Eid will be celebrated on Sunday, marking the culmination of 29 days of fasting.
Ramadan, the holiest month in Islam, begins with the sighting of the crescent moon and ends in the same manner, varying between 29 to 30 days. It is a time of fasting from dawn to dusk, prayers, and acts of charity, fostering spiritual growth and discipline. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr today after confirming the moon sighting a day earlier.
The announcement brought joy to the valley, with bustling markets, prepared mosques, and families eagerly gearing up for Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations filled with prayers, charity, and feasting.
