Srinagar, 11 MAR (NewsEye): After massive protests by casual and daily wage workers, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah announced in the assembly the formation of a high-level committee to prepare a framework for their regularisation within six months.
The committee, comprising the Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Planning Secretary, Finance Secretary, and Law Secretary, will formulate a structured plan based on the number of daily wagers in the union territory.
“I assure the daily wagers that we are committed to addressing their concerns. The committee will prepare a framework within six months, and in the next budget session, we will initiate the process of regularisation both legally and financially,” Omar Abdullah said in his statement.
The announcement comes in response to the growing demand for job security from thousands of daily wagers, who have been protesting for their rights. The move is expected to bring relief to these workers who have been struggling for permanent employment.(NewsEye)
