Ramadan Cresent Not Sighted in Kashmir, Fasting to Begin from Sunday

The crescent moon marking the beginning of Ramadan 2025 was not sighted in Kashmir on Friday evening, Grand Mufti said.

As a result, Muslims across the region will begin fasting from Sunday, March 2.

The moon was also not sighted in most parts of India and Pakistan, where Ramadan will also begin from Sunday.

Ramadan is observed by Muslims worldwide with fasting, prayers, and acts of charity, lasting for 29 or 30 days depending on the moon sighting.
