Srinagar, 15 FEB[NewsEye]: Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has strongly condemned the recent termination of three government employees by the Jammu and Kashmir LG administration over alleged terror links, calling it an “authoritarian move” aimed at gradually rendering Kashmiris jobless.
In a social media post, Mirwaiz questioned the government’s intentions:
“The termination of three more state employees in such an authoritarian manner is highly condemnable. Do the rulers want to remove all Kashmiris slowly and steadily from government services and render them jobless?”
He urged elected representatives to take immediate action, reminding them of their manifesto commitments. “It is the duty of the elected representatives to take up this issue urgently with the concerned as they have committed in their manifesto and stop this harassment.”
Mirwaiz also criticized the crackdown on Islamic literature, calling it “ridiculous,” “Cracking down on Islamic literature and seizing them from bookstores while condemnable is ridiculous. Policing thought by seizing books is absurd, to say the least, in the time of access to all information on virtual highways.” He wrote.
The government has not yet responded to the political remarks, but the developments have sparked fresh debate over the administration’s actions and their impact on Kashmir’s socio-political landscape.(NewsEye)
