HS Laharwalpora Organises World Health Day Awareness Programme

Bandipora, April 7:
On the occasion of World Health Day 2026, an awareness programme was held at High School Laharwalpora on the theme “Together for Health and Stand with Science.”

Dr. Irfan Hussain Banday, Senior Medical Officer (AYUSH), Bandipora, addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in promoting health and relying on scientific evidence to counter misinformation. He encouraged students to adopt healthy lifestyles and make informed decisions.

Students were sensitised to the need for cooperation in maintaining health, recognising the link between humans, animals, and the environment. The programme also stressed the importance of trusting verified scientific information over misleading social media content.

Awareness was created about the harmful effects of junk food, excessive screen time, and unhealthy habits. Students were advised to follow a balanced diet, engage in regular physical activity, and avoid smoking and drug misuse.

In his concluding remarks, HOI Javaid Jawad, an award-winning educator, urged students to follow health guidelines for a healthy and happy life. He also expressed his gratitude to Dr. Irfan for his insightful deliberations.

The programme concluded with a strong message of responsible citizenship, promoting healthy living, scientific thinking, and collective action for a better future.
