Mirwaiz Pays Tribute to Bhushan Bazaz, Calls His Demise Personal Loss

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Monday expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Pandit Bhushan Bazaz, son of Kashmiri leader and intellectual Pandit Prem Nath Bazaz, describing his demise as a significant personal and collective loss.

In a condolence message, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said Bhushan Bazaz was a close friend of his father and had been a father-like presence in his own life. He remembered him as a true upholder of Kashmiri ethics, whose sincerity, warmth and affection left a lasting impression.

“His passing is a great personal loss to me and my family,” Mirwaiz said, extending his deepest condolences to Bhushan Bazaz’s son Kalhan Bazaz and the entire Bazaz family.

Bhushan Bazaz was associated with the Jammu Kashmir Democratic Forum, an organisation founded by his father, Pandit Prem Nath Bazaz.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said Bhushan Bazaz carried forward the ethical and moral legacy of his father and was widely respected for his commitment to Kashmir’s cultural and social values.
