The Traders Federation Chotta Bazar, Kani Kadal formally took charge of its office on Thursday in a function attended by traders and market representatives. Mohammad Yasin Khan, President of the Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF), was the chief guest and inaugurated the office.
On the occasion, the Chotta Bazar Traders Federation was officially affiliated with the Jammu and Kashmir traders’ body. Affiliation certificates were distributed among shopkeepers, marking their formal inclusion under the umbrella organisation. The event was attended by executive members of the federation and a large number of local traders.
Addressing the gathering, Mohammad Yasin Khan said he was pleased to see traders uniting for the collective welfare of the market. “I am happy that the people of this market have taken this step for the goodwill of all shopkeepers. At a time when every businessman in Kashmir is worried due to the deteriorating business environment caused by various factors, at this time unity is essential. We will provide full support to this federation on every front and it’s my suggeston to all the businessmen that businesses should not depend on credit excessively, as in the long run it causes more harm,” he said.
President of the Chotta Bazar, Kani Kadal Traders Federation, Arshid Hussain, said that taking charge of the office also brought a sense of responsibility.
“With assuming this role, I feel accountable for every shopkeeper and businessman associated with our federation. My motive will always be to work for their welfare, improve our market for traders as well as customers, and resolve issues in a friendly manner. We will stand firmly with our members at every front,” he said.
Shopkeepers present at the event expressed satisfaction over coming together under one banner. They said the federation would help them collectively face challenges and work for the betterment of the market during both prosperous and difficult times.
