Security forces on Saturday foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Keran sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, killing two militants during an ongoing operation codenamed “Pimple.”
According to official sources, the operation was launched on November 7 after intelligence inputs indicated a possible infiltration attempt in the area. Alert troops noticed suspicious movement near the LoC and challenged the intruders, prompting them to open indiscriminate fire. The soldiers retaliated, leading to a fierce gunfight in which two militants were neutralized.
The Chinar Corps confirmed the development on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Two terrorists have been neutralised in the ongoing Operation Pimple in Keran, Kupwara. Search operations are in progress.”
Security forces have cordoned off the area and a thorough search is underway to ensure no other infiltrators remain hidden in the vicinity.
