Airtel Restores Services, Extends Packs Validity by 3 Days

Telecom major Airtel has rolled out special customer-relief measures after unprecedented rains and extreme weather conditions disrupted telecom services across Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh.

Acknowledging the growing importance of connectivity during natural calamities, Airtel said that it has put in place a series of steps to ease the communication crisis.

According to the company, prepaid customers whose plans are due to expire this week will automatically receive a 3-day extension with unlimited calls and 1GB data per day. Similarly, postpaid and broadband customers have been given a 3-day grace period on bill payments to ensure uninterrupted services.

The company has also enabled Intra-Circle Roaming (ICR) in Jammu, Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh, allowing customers to latch onto other available networks to remain connected.

An Airtel spokesperson said, “Our teams are working tirelessly on the ground to restore services at the earliest. Airtel stands with the people of these regions and remains committed to keeping them connected.”

The continuous downpour has impacted power supply, damaged infrastructure, and left large swathes of the region grappling with connectivity issues, making telecom networks a lifeline for residents and relief agencies.
