Ehsaas Foundation Pays Tribute to Unsung Strength of Kashmiri Mothers

On the occasion of Mother’s Day, the Ehsaas Foundation has extended heartfelt gratitude to the mothers of Jammu & Kashmir, hailing them as the quiet yet unshakable pillars of the region’s families and society.

In a moving statement released Sunday, the Srinagar-based NGO lauded Kashmiri mothers for enduring generations of hardship with dignity, noting their “stoic strength, limitless sacrifices, and unwavering love.”

A mother’s love doesn’t shout out in Kashmir,” the statement read. “It’s found in the actions that go unspoken—willingly going hungry, secretly hiding pain, and offering up more than you have. And today we affirm, we hear you, we honor you.”

From widows raising children alone to elderly mothers silently forgoing their own needs for the sake of family, the foundation called their stories “a testament to strength and grace.”

Ehsaas Foundation, known for its work in social welfare and women’s health, urged families and communities to recognize the emotional and physical labor mothers undertake—often without acknowledgment or support.

The organization also renewed its call for better healthcare and support systems for women in the Valley, especially for those suffering in silence.
