The Kashmir valley was plunged into mourning this morning, especially the bustling lanes of Down Town fell silent as news of the passing of Maulana Mubarak Mubarki Sahab, spread across the Kashmir Valley. President of Bazm-e-Tawheed and Khateeb of Bazar Masjid, a revered cleric, a guiding light for thousands, and a figure deeply woven into the religious and emotional fabric of Kashmir, Maulana Mubarki’s death has left the valley in collective grief.
The funeral prayers for Maulana Mubarki were held at Srinagar’s historic Jamia Masjid soon after the congregational Friday (Jummah) prayers. Thousands gathered to pay their final respects, reflecting the deep love and admiration the people of the Valley held for the cleric.
“After the passing of Shaheed-e-Milat, Maulana Mubarki Sahab became a father figure.” Mirwaiz said in his sermon. “His death is not just a personal loss — it’s a misfortune for all of Kashmir. Deeply saddened by the passing away of Maulana Mubarak Mubarki sahab a revered scholar and great preacher. Mirwaiz and Mubarki family had a great bond since years. May Allah grant him the highest standards in Jannat-ul-Firdous.”
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, writing on X (formerly Twitter), expressed his sorrow. “I am saddened by the passing of the noted Islamic scholar and preacher, Jenab Maulana Mubarak Mubarki Sahib. Marhoom Maulana Mubarki was renowned for his wisdom, humility, and unwavering dedication to Islamic teachings, impacting countless lives through his sermons and religious guidance. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and followers.”
Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, also shared her grief, stating,”Saddened beyond words by the demise of Maulana Mubarak Mubarki sahab. May Allah SWT grant him the highest place in Jannah & grant sabr to his family and loved ones.”
