Intense Showers, Thunder to Hit J&K: MeT

The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a nowcast update at 3:15 PM, predicting light to moderate rain across many areas of Jammu and Kashmir.

Intense showers are likely at a few places for a short period, accompanied by thunder, lightning, and gusty winds. The activity is expected to last for the next four to six hours.

People have been advised to stay away from water channels, loose structures, and landslide-prone areas.

Boating and Shikara rides in Dal Lake and other water bodies should be avoided. Residents are urged to remain indoors or take shelter in safe places.
