In a significant development, senior trade union leaders of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) have unanimously announced the formation of the Municipal Employees Association. The decision was taken collectively to represent and address the concerns of municipal employees more effectively.
Mr. Nazir Ahmed Ahangar, Section Officer, has been unanimously elected as the President of the newly-formed Association, while Mr. Fayyaz Ahmed Mir has been appointed as the Chairman.
