Eid-ul-Fitr is one of the two major festivals celebrated by Muslims across the world. It marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, during which people observe fasting from dawn to dusk for an entire month as an act of devotion and self-discipline.
On Eid, Muslims gather at Eidgahs and major mosques to offer two Rakah Eid prayers, followed by the Khutbah (sermon). The day is also marked by acts of charity, with people giving Zakat al-Fitr, a mandatory donation to help those in need, ensuring that everyone can partake in the celebrations.
Eid-ul-Fitr is a time of joy, togetherness, and gratitude. Families visit relatives, exchange greetings, and share festive meals. The festival reinforces the values of compassion, unity, and thankfulness among Muslims. —(NewsEye)
