Srinagar, Mar 06 (NewsEye): PDP leader Iltija Mufti led a protest in Srinagar, demanding an apology from BJP’s Sunil Sharma for his contentious remarks on the July 13, 1931, martyrs.
Addressing the media, Mufti slammed the BJP for distorting history, emphasizing that the martyrs’ sacrifice was a defining moment in J&K’s fight for democracy.
While welcoming the expunging of Sharma’s remarks from Assembly records, she insisted on a public apology.
She also took a dig at the BJP’s stance on Maharaja Hari Singh, questioning their removal of J&K’s state flag and special status.
Reiterating PDP’s demand, Mufti urged the restoration of July 13 as a public holiday, accusing the BJP of erasing J&K’s historical identity. (NewsEye)
